Summer is fast approaching and the weather can be tough in the Philippines. The summer heat and rays of the sun can be harsh for a child’s skin while playing outdoors. Moreover, this is the season wherein kids now have their days off at school and have all the time to have fun before the next school year starts. For those who have babysitting duties this summer, there is a place in town to bring the kids, whether a young child or a child at heart.
Okada Manila has opened its PLAY, short for “Purposeful Learning and Activities for the Young”, wherein kids can learn new things while having fun. It is an indoor fun facility where young kids and kids at heart can share a fun experience. PLAY offers play areas for guests one to 16 years old. These areas are actually “eight purpose-built play areas or neighborhoods” that cater to the fun and adventure they want to experience.
Wizard’s Den
A place perfect for kids curious about magic and adventure since it involves a world where they get to defeat mythical creatures
Mini Steps & Mini Me
A play and learning area perfect for kids aged 0 to 3. The MIni Steps have 10 different features, while the Mini Me Playground has cubes, seesaws, a ball pit, and slides. Parents and babysitters should not worry since the area is fully padded for the kids’ safety.
Little Town
The imagination haven for kids since this is a place to make their dreams come true. As the name states it, it is a town that is perfect for their height, making them play pretend to be adults—such as going to the grocery, bank, school, play house and more.
Little Park
A two-level playground and maze for kids to explore and enjoy. The area also has a climbing wall, a giant tic-tac-toe to battle with new found friends, barrel roll, zip line, and more.
Sports Zone
Let kids experience sports while young and nurture future athletes. The Sports Zone has an artificial grass court that is perfect for a game of football or basketball.
Janguru
Another multi-level with a maze to explore, which is perfect for kids aged 8 and above, with a height requirement of 110 centimeters. Janguru consists of a playground and maze that has three slides, which are wave slides, a drop slide, and turbo slide, wave bridges, gaming floor, obstacle courses, and more.
The Stage
A place for kids to perform and showcase their talent in the performing arts category; they can sing, dance, act or do everything in one go.
My Party Place
This is a space that can be rented as a venue for different occasions, such as birthday parties and other celebrations. Excluding the Wizard Den from the list, kids can explore the other neighborhoods all they want without the long lines.
Other than the mentioned activities above, PLAY also features pocket activities and programs being lead by coaches on the three huts of the Janguru play area. The programs target different aspects of a child’s development, and these are as follows:
- Colors and Creation — perfect for future artists. This is an arts and crafts program that is focused on fostering the creative minds of kids
- YTT (Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow) — a one-on-one tutorial on different subjects, which are math, science and reading subjects. It also includes occupational therapy that includes speech and physical therapy.
- Music & Movement — focused on the performing arts. Kids get to showcase their talent through group sessions that revolve around dance, music, and performing arts
- Life Skills — this is where kids get to learn more about housekeeping, creative writing, personal nutrition, and more
There is no stopping for kids to have fun and learn new things. No matter the weather or season, young children and child-at-heart teenagers can still dive into the fun at an indoor playground. With this, establishments should be able to get high-quality equipment to ensure the safety of the family, and iREC has over 25 years in manufacturing equipment used in playgrounds. From slides to little towns, all of its equipment is recognized by international organizations as safe and long-lasting. For inquiries, call +63 47 250 2779 or email sales@irec.ph.
